How did you two meet?
S: We saw each other throughout junior year, but we never really talked to each other. I just thought he was cute and I always saw him in Ignite meetings. We ended up being partners for a SciOly competition and whenever I tried to talk to Nathan, he always didn’t respond or try to continue the conversation, so I thought that Nathan didn’t really like me that much. He was always very indifferent to me, in general, but then when I started to get to know him, he turned out to not be like that.
N: Just to explain why she thought I was quiet and indifferent, it’s just because I was nervous every time I talked to her. I just didn’t know what to say so I just didn’t say very much.
Who asked out who?
S: No one ever asked the other person out-
N: Ok, no, no, no. I was at Kerr and we were already hanging out a lot and Julius was with me and he asked, “Are you dating Sara yet?” And I replied, “I don’t know, am I?” And he said, “I don’t know, are you?” And I was like, “I don’t know!” I snapchatted Sara and I asked, “Are we dating?” And then she was like, “I don’t know, are we?” And I replied with “Oh.” We said that for a while and we assumed we were. Basically, I asked her.
What was your first impression of each other?
N: My very, very first impression of her when I first saw her, I thought she was really pretty, but I was also kind of introverted and didn’t want to talk to her because I was nervous. Later, we were at SciOly and she got partnered with me and I was happy because you know, I got partnered with the really hot girl. We were working on this robot and she was trying to look over my shoulder at the robot and her hair kept tickling my arm and I had to back off, but it was still fun.
S: I used to see him all the time at Ignite GA’s and he always had good comments in the discussions, so I thought that he seemed like a really sweet guy and I was attracted to him.
What do you like best about your S.O.?
N: I like that she’s intelligent. She always can never agree with what I say, and she always has a counterargument or some other opinion. She’s a good person to have intellectual and deep conversations with. Also, she’s really, really, really cute and I feel like she would never betray me. Also, I just really like how she’s always compassionate towards everyone. She has good morals and a very strong but good personality.
S: I think Nathan’s a very sweet guy and I like how he’s really caring about other people and he’s passionate about what he loves to do. I like when a guy has direction in his life and knows what he wants to do with his future. I also think our personalities match well together.
N: I also like how her hand fits perfectly into my hand.
What was the most memorable thing you did together?
S: That’s hard to think of. I think when I look back on my senior year, this whole year is going to be memorable to me. Since we’re both at TAMS, I got to see Nathan every single day. Even though we’ve only known each other for four months, it felt like a lot longer than that since we get to spend a lot of time together. So, I think the most memorable thing is just everything from the past four months.
N: I concur. If you really want a memorable event, my first experience with her was memorable, but it was before we started dating. So, I guess the most memorable thing was probably going on to hoco when she invited me to her hoco group. Wait, we weren’t dating there either. We went on an impromptu date to LSA Burgers and then we went and got Slurpee’s and just sat outside and talked to each other for the entire night and it was really fun.
What’s your favorite date location?
S: Just being with each other anywhere is a good date location.
N: I feel like we really like going on walks, especially if it’s nice weather. Just going on walks and talking is really fun.
How do you get through struggles together?
S: Whenever I’m sad or stressed out, Nathan just hugs me, and I feel better. I’m pretty simple.
N: I just keeping talking with her until we both reach a conclusion. We don’t just argue and have differing opinions, we both try to see each other’s sides.
Rate your S.O. out of 10 and explain your rating.
N: Definitely a 10. She’s perfect.
S: I would rate Nathan a 9.99999 because no one’s perfect.
N: She’s perfect in my eyes.
Who’s alpha and why?
S: I think we’re both alpha in different aspects. I’m probably more alpha in the more important aspects though.
N: Uh, yeah sure.
Any fun stories about your relationship?
S: There was one time when Nathan came over to my house and my parents dropped us off back to TAMS. On the way back, they were talking about alpha and beta decay and my dad asked him a question and then Nathan answered it, but my dad made him second-guess himself, so Nathan thought that he answered the question wrong. He was really embarrassed about it and it was really cute and funny to me.
N: I was at Sara’s house and Sara’s dad said, “I just want you to know Nathan that all my future sons-in-law have to be able to carry me 200 meters and I weigh over 200 pounds.” I was like “Oh, dang,” but he was like “No, I’m actually serious.” I thought that was kind of funny.
